#operationottawa December 27th - 30th 2017 is a team initiative to raise the necessary funds to bring the entire Electric City Maroon & White team to Ottawa where we will be taking part in the Bell Canada Cup special needs division.
The Electric City Maroon & White have no major corporate partnership/sponsorship and rely heavily on fundraising activities throughout the year which keep us on the ice and on the baseball diamond. With several special needs adults that live independently and low income families we try to provide as much help as possible. My goal with #operationottawa is to raise $10,000 which will cover all expenses for the players needing financial assistance including tournament entry fees, meals, accommodations, banquet tickets and tickets to see the Ottawa Senators play.
How will we achieve our goal? I run a yearly online Christmas auction from December 15th - 21st and have set a goal of raising $4000 We will also be participating in three upcoming Christmas Craft Shows organized by Stu and Nancy Booth. They have kindly included us as the charity of choice over the last year. Our responsibilities include helping with pre-show setup, vendor assistance, front door ticket sales and a coffee and baked goods station. Upcoming show information can be found here
How can you help? Donations are always appreciated with 100% of everything raised going directly to the team. No one is paid to be a part of the ECM&W we are all here to improve the lives of children and adults with spacial needs and for some of us, to give back to the game.
If you are part of a business or know someone who is and would like to donate an item to the upcoming Christmas auction please send me a quick note and I will arrange to have it picked up. The website normally takes in over 15,000 visitors during auction week which will bring in great awareness to your product as well as helping some very deserving athletes.
Thanks for your time and your support of the Electric City Maroon & White.
